From where I stood on the bridge waiting for lightning. After giving up. For the night, that is.
Vintage Mercedes S Class. Found walking to a bridge hoping to shoot lightning.
East bank of Lemanak River, Sarawak Province, Borneo, Malaysia seen from the Batang Ai Iban longhouse where we spent the night drinking positively excellent Iban moonshine with zero hangover factor and boy, was I ever loaded so I should know. I still feel a bit bad for having gone there and watched them put on a show for tourists but it was an amazing insight nonetheless so I'm glad I didn't have those qualms before leaving or I might not have booked that arrangement. The trip was three weeks with the first week guided and the other two spent backpacking. I hope to go to Malaysia again some day, it is a beautiful country, the people are friendly and very very hospitable and the food is awesome, plus you can eat all kinds of super spicy hot food but it is always tasty and not just a mouth burner. And the local breakfast, Nasi Lemak, is a great start into a day in the July weather. I've never sweated more in my life and most bottled water you can buy in Malaysia is produced using reverse osmosis so you have to watch your minerals.
I like islamic architecture a lot whenever it stays this side of pompous and the mosque of Kuantan (Northeast Malaysia) definitely deserves a look. Again captured in 2005 with my trusty old Optio WP (it was new back then)
Update: still not happy with the crop, comments appreciated

Looked much better on the in-camera display, reflections on a matte black fuel tank with dark matte grey name paint, seen on a Harley trike of that name
